Ecotoxicology is the study:
- Toxic effects of substances on organisms and ecosystems;
- The pathways of these substances and their interactions with the environment.
Bioassays (ISO / AFNOR / OECD / EPA ...) are made in the laboratory to quantify these effects (acute or chronic) and biodegradability tests to assess the potential retention.
Applications:
REACH and CLP, GHS, biocides, plant protection, offshore, detergents, Ecolabelling, H14 classification (waste and sediment), transport (ADR, ADN and other) regulations, Environmental Risk Assessment (TGD), marketing claims, etc ...
Identification of PBT (Persistent Bioaccumulative and Toxic Substances) and vPvB (very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative substances)
